Johnson County Community College
Carrie Hanson, RDH, MA, EdD, is Director of the Dental Hygiene Program at Johnson County Community College. She was formerly an Associate Professor at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, School of Dentistry, in the Division of Dental Hygiene. Ms. Hanson has been practicing and teaching for over 30 years. During her educational tenure, Carrie has served as Community Dentistry Coordinator, taught various didactic courses, and has taught in both junior and senior dental hygiene clinics. She has published in peer-reviewed journals, authored a chapter in the Dental Hygiene Review textbook and served on several committees and service in the community. Carrie has received several teaching awards and in 1996 was honored as Alumni of the Year for Northern Arizona University. She was the Director of the Admission Enhancement and Extended Care Permits Programs at UMKC before accepting her current position as Director at Johnson County Community College.
