Dental anxiety significantly impacts access to endodontic care, especially for patients who identify root canal treatment as their most feared procedure. This session unites experts from Behavioral Sciences, Endodontics and Pharmacology to examine data from a recent anxiety-focused clinical trial and explore how fear influences pain perception and treatment outcomes. Presenters will share evidence-based strategies for managing anxiety and pain, improving both patient experiences and treatment outcomes. Participants will learn how addressing dental anxiety through interdisciplinary approaches can enhance care delivery, reduce disparities and inform dental education, ultimately expanding access to compassionate, patient-centered treatment.
